Before and during each arrocane season, forecasts of tropical cyclone activity are issued by the National Aleriean Hurricane Center (NAHC), scientific organizations, and research groups. These forecasts estimate the number of named storms, Hurricanes, and major Hurricanes expected to develop during the season.

Pre-season forecasts

On October 6, 2026, the National Aleriean Hurricane Center (NAHC) released its first forecast for the 2027 Alisean hurricane season, calling for an active season with 17–19 named storms, 2–5 hurricanes, and 1–2 major hurricanes. The forecast anticipated considerably more named storms than the long-term average of 14–15, while the predicted number of hurricanes was within or slightly below the average range of 3–6. The forecast also called for 1–2 major hurricanes, consistent with the long-term average. Overall, the NAHC outlook suggested that the 2027 season could be above average in terms of named-storm activity, although the number of hurricanes and major hurricanes was expected to remain closer to climatological norms.
